How do I choose the best consultantcy

Why use them?

Using a good recruitment consultancy can save you time and money. Remember, if you don't get your chosen candidate, you don't pay a fee. Despite receiving good advice and assistance along the way. But if you have chosen your consultancy well, you will be able to rest easy in the knowledge that you have made the best possible choice.

How many should I register my vacancy with?

One ideally. Two at the most. If you employ one consultancy for a set period on a sole agency basis, you should receive a considerable reduction in fee for that period. In addition sole agency will ensure a good working relationship with your consultancy. They will pull out the stops to give you a service and if they don't come up with the goods in the time agreed, then you are free to widen out the search.

Registering your vacancy with every agency known to you is not a wise move. Playing one consultancy off against another will result in your getting an unsatisfactory deal all round. If the agencies involved know they are in competition with everyone else, they will lose interest. In a no-win-no-fee culture, knowing the chances of earning a fee are severely restricted they will, quite naturally concentrate their attention elsewhere. In addition, you will find that if you receive the same CV from a number of sources and subsequently employ that candidate, you may find yourself receiving multiple invoices. (See Terms & Conditions - what to look for).

Specialists?

A good specialist consultancy will know their market and how their candidates fit into it. You can be assured that when you register your vacancy with a specialist, they will already know about your business and what your requirements are likely to be. You won't be swamped with unsuitable candidates. From Manufacturer, Motor Retail Group to independent dealer, a specialist recruitment consultancy will be able to match that background and judge the candidates accordingly.   Saving you frustration and sparing your time.
